Beijing: 06 Feb 2022 – H.E. Mr. Imran Khan, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan visited Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese leadership from 3 to 6 February 2022 to attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games 2022. During the visit, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. President Xi Jinping, and H.E. Premier Li Keqiang.

The text of the following joint statement was released on the occasion.

KARACHI: Farooq Khan, Textile Commissioner of Pakistan said that the textiles exports can cross 20 billion dollars this year. Speaking at FPCCI meeting, he mentioned only 5 percent of Pakistan’s value-added textiles products are using synthetic materials and this must improve to increase the production rapidly.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says consistent efforts are being made for economic stabilization of the country by utilizing economic diplomacy. 

He was talking to Chairman Board of Investment Muhammad Azfar Ahsan in Islamabad on Monday.

The Foreign Minister said our ambassadors are drawing the attention of the international community to the business opportunities available in Pakistan through economic diplomacy in light of the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Mohammad Azfar Ahsan on Monday and assured him that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will render all possible assistance to achieve the economic agenda of the government and meet the economic goals.

According to a statement issued by Qureshi’s media team, Secretary BOI Fareena Mazhar and other senior officials of the BOI were also present during the meeting.

Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday instructed that issues of special economic zones should be resolved on priority basis and measures for facilitating the investors should be implemented in the given timeframe.

He was chairing a high level meeting here on Special Economic Zones.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Pakistan William Wouter Plomp accompanied by representatives from the Embassy of Netherlands met the Minister of State & Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Muhammad Azfar Ahsan and the Secretary BOI Ms. Fareena Mazhar in Islamabad on Thursday.

The BOI leadership sensitized the ambassador about Pakistan’s liberal investment regime and the incumbent government’s commitment towards investment promotion.

ISLAMABAD: Ericsson, global telecom giant,has invested US $31 million (Rs5.52 billion) foreign direct investment in Pakistan, says a press release issued on Saturday.

In a meeting with Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Fadi Pharaon Head of Middle East & Africa Ericsson, Ekow Nelson Head of Customer Unit Etisalat & Pakistan & country Manager Pakistan Aamir Ahsan Khan mentioned that Ericsson is keen in regaining the radio foot print in the strategic market like Pakistan.
