ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has invited European Union (EU) investors to invest in Pakistan to contribute to economic development of the country.

Talking to EU Ambassador in Pakistan Androulla Kaminara on Tuesday, the speaker of the National Assembly said that Pakistan has vast potential for investment in various sectors.

The speaker said that the present government has introduced investment-friendly policies for the development of economic and industrial sectors. He said that the projects being executed under CPEC have accelerated economic activity in the country. Qaiser said that peaceful Afghanistan is imperative for peace and progress in the region, including Pakistan.

The EU ambassador said that steps are being taken to enhance trade with Pakistan. She said that the EU mission will continue playing its role for improving parliamentary cooperation.

She said that the European Union will also continue to extend its cooperation for socio-economic development in Pakistan, including infrastructural development.
