• BEIJING: Pakistan and China trade was significantly higher last year and Pakistan’s export of Sesamum seeds to China achieved a historical figure of $120.44 million in the year 2021.

    China imported 92516.55 tons in 2021 and was one of the main destinations for Sesamum seeds exports from Pakistan, while in 2020 it was only 38000 kilograms, according to the official data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC).

  • KARACHI: Farooq Khan, Textile Commissioner of Pakistan said that the textiles exports can cross 20 billion dollars this year. Speaking at FPCCI meeting, he mentioned only 5 percent of Pakistan’s value-added textiles products are using synthetic materials and this must improve to increase the production rapidly.

  • The Board of Investment (BOI), Pakistan, and the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC), China, have signed the much-anticipated Framework Agreement on Industrial Cooperation under CPEC on Friday, 4th February 2022.

    The Prime Minister, Imran Khan, held a one-to-one meeting with the Chairman, NDRC, He Lifeng, at Beijing on Friday to deliberate on the progress of CPEC projects, which was followed by the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on Industrial Cooperation under CPEC.

  • Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CPEC Affairs Khalid Mansoor has said the Chinese companies have assured their full support to the second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

    Talking to PTV in Beijing on Friday about Prime Minister Imran Khan's meetings with Chinese corporate leaders, he said Pakistan-China joint working groups in ten sectors will expeditiously develop projects and the Chinese side has assured technical, technological and financial support to them.

  • ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Mohammad Azfar Ahsan on Monday and assured him that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will render all possible assistance to achieve the economic agenda of the government and meet the economic goals.

    According to a statement issued by Qureshi’s media team, Secretary BOI Fareena Mazhar and other senior officials of the BOI were also present during the meeting.

  • PAKISTAN has decided to offer a permanent residency scheme for wealthy foreign nationals, including Sikhs living in the US and Canada, to attract investments, it emerged on Saturday (15).

    Information minister Fawad Chaudhry through an overnight tweet announced that the new scheme was in line with the new National Security Policy, which was formally launched by prime minister Imran Khan on Friday (14).

  • Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday instructed that issues of special economic zones should be resolved on priority basis and measures for facilitating the investors should be implemented in the given timeframe.

    He was chairing a high level meeting here on Special Economic Zones.

    The Prime Minister was informed in detail about the steps taken by the government for facilitating the investors in the Special Economic Zones.

  • KARACHI: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) increased 20 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2021-22, reflecting an improvement in the investment environment.

    In the first half of the current fiscal year, FDI amounted to $1.05 billion against the inflow of $879.7 million in the same period of 2020-21.
